Well, I’ve been away from this blog for a long time. I’ll give you the short version of why.
First, as a freelancer, it was hard to get clients over the past few months thanks to the shitty economy (although I’m happy to say it is starting to pick up). Second, there was a bit of a falling out with my longtime girlfriend. This meant that I had to find a new place to call home. That, combined with tons of writing, has just kept me away. I’ll try to post stuff more often, but I can’t promise.
If you happen to have an Amazon Kindle, you can now download the entire New Voices in Horror Volume 1 anthology. It’s only $1.99, which is a steal when you consider just how much fiction you’re getting. Included are stories by Jeremy Shipp, Joseph D’Lacey, Simon Wood, Dave Rex and more. My short story “Anatomy of the Terrible” is also included in the anthology.
The anthology is currently #26 in Anthologies – let’s see if we can get it into the top ten by the weekend!
New Voices in Horror Anthology
Write the most outrageous tabloid headline that you can. However, there is one catch: you must include cherry tomatoes and a cryptid (creature such as Bigfoot, Chupacabras, etc.).
Well, it seems that there are still five new episodes (“Something with Bite,” “Chance,” “The Spirit Box,” “Echoes,” and “The Circle”) on the way for the remainder of this season’s horror anthology show Fear Itself. I am unsure of when the remaining episodes will begin airing – probably next week after the RNC is finished. I, for one, can’t wait for their return.
As soon as I find out when the new shows start airing, I’ll update.
Three of my stories (“Lures: A Fish Story”, “Raven’s House”, and “Coventry Greens”) will appear in Northern Haunts: 100 Terrifying New England Tales, the upcoming anthology from Shroud Publishing.
I have no doubt that a host of great stories will fill this book. Shroud Publishing’s Tim Deal is the editor, and he is also the mastermind behind Shroud: The Journal of Dark Fiction and Art and the anthologies Abominations and Beneath the Surface.
Proceeds from the sale of this book are going to the American Cancer Society, so I urge everyone out there to buy a copy – heck, buy two or three and give them out as Christmas gifts. You’ll be getting some great fiction and helping a worthy cause.
